Description
GDP Portals Give You the Ultimate Ride
We don’t make
assumptions about the way you ride because we know that off-roading is
different for everyone. That’s why we don’t build “one size fits all” portals.
When you get SuperATV’s GDP 6” Portal Gear Lift for your Yamaha Viking, you
get to pick a 30%, 45%, or 60% gear reduction and cast or billet aluminum
housings. Plus, you can choose to upgrade to dual idlers for unparalleled
strength. Whatever you choose, there’s no better way to get some more
clearance under you while also changing your gear ratio.
What is a Dual Idler®?
Perfection takes time. After
years of research and development, we’ve made our dual idler gear portals
unlike any other. By placing a second idler gear in the portal box, the load
gets spread over twice as much surface area for more reliable torque transfer
and the strongest gear set you can get. Two idler gears don’t do a thing if
they’re not mated perfectly, though. Precision CNC grinding ensures ours do.
Our gears are made from the industry’s toughest 9310 steel alloy. Didn’t think
dual idlers mattered? With GDP’s quality and experience, they finally do
Ride Any Way You Want
Love mud? You haven’t
experienced mud until you’ve tackled it with a GDP portal gear lift. The extra
six inches of clearance give you room for massive mud tires and the 45% or 60%
gear reduction keeps you from getting stuck. Love trails and wide-open speed?
Opt for our 30% gear reduction that still delivers tons of torque but
maintains a higher top speed.
A Gear Reduction That Protects
Your Drivetrain
One of the many reasons we love portal gear
lifts is the fact that the gear reduction is built right into the hub. That
puts less stress on your drivetrain, which means your machine’s most vital
parts can do their job without acquiring premature wear. You’ll ride easy
knowing that your prop shaft, axles, diff, and transmission are in good hands.
Stronger Housings by Design
We’ve been
researching and designing portals for years, so we know what it takes to make
or break them. When you choose our USA-made, CNC-machined billet aluminum
housings or you decide to go with cast aluminum, you’re getting beefy portal
boxes that are reinforced with 5/16” backing plates made from an advanced
steel alloy. They’re built for years of the most extreme riding.
- Our
housings are reinforced for gear retention and optimized for oil flow - Advanced steel alloy backing plates are stronger than chromoly
- Enhance
with Portal Blood—gear oil formulated for GDP Portals - There are no
gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we
tested them
Advanced Gaskets, Seals, and Bearings
Our portals use:
- Advanced gaskets and O-rings with excellent oil
resistance and low deterioration rates - A sealed input gear and double-
lipped output seal - 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget
about oil leaks - Double-angular contact output bearings to prevent
premature wear - Roller idler and drive bearings to maintain perfect gear
meshing
