Product Description

Ride All Winter with a Can-Am Defender HD5 Cab Heater

Your Can-Am Defender HD5 can handle winter, but that doesn’t mean you want to freeze behind the wheel. SuperATV’s Cab Heater pulls heat from your engine’s coolant lines to warm your cab just like the heater in a car. Installation is simple because the kit connects to your Defender HD5’s key-on and power terminals. We include hoses, drill bits, and machine-specific mounting plates to help you finish the job fast. Adjustable temperature and fan controls might even make winter your favorite season to ride.

Defrost Your Windshield

The heater unit has two built-in vents, plus we include a defrost vent and hoses to keep snow, ice, and fog off your windshield. The defrost vents route through your dash for a clean, factory-style finish.

Keep Your Cab Comfortable

This cab heater helps you stay comfortable every time cold weather hits. Its high-grade radiator hoses can withstand temperatures from -40°F to 285°F. Your heater and its components can handle extreme engine heat and bitter outdoor temperatures. It doesn’t just improve your ride—it makes winter a whole lot better.

Get Heat in Half the Time with a Quick-Start Flow Valve

Cut your heater’s warm-up time in half with a quick-start flow valve. It directs all engine coolant to the heater core while engine temperatures remain low. The valve opens automatically after the engine reaches operating temperature and allows coolant to flow through the radiator.

Add an Idle Flow Pump for Hot Air in About 30 Seconds

An idle flow pump can deliver heat to your cab in as little as 30 seconds. The pump maintains coolant flow through the engine for faster heat at idle or low speeds.

Quick-Start Flow Valve Idle Flow Pump

Gets you heated air twice as fast Warms up heater in under 30 seconds

Diverts coolant to your heater core at low temps Actively pumps coolant at idle to increase heater temps

Combine our Quick-Start Flow Valve and Idle Flow Pump for maximum heat as quickly as possible when you’re slow or idle.

Add a Grille Cover

Block icy airflow across your radiator with a grille cover. Higher coolant temperatures help your cab heater warm up faster. Our grille cover uses PVC-backed polyester and installs or removes with ease. It works so well that you can’t use it above freezing temperatures, or your machine could overheat.

Need More Cab Enclosure Components?

Seal your UTV’s cab with full doors, a roof, and front and rear windshields to get the best performance from your heater.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much heat does a Can-Am Defender cab heater actually put out?

Our cab heater pulls heat directly from your Defender’s coolant lines, giving you the same reliable warmth you’d expect from a truck-style heater. It pushes strong airflow through multiple vents to keep your cab warm even in freezing temperatures, delivering fast warm‑up times and consistent heat all ride long.

How hard is it to install a SuperATV Defender cab heater?

We include hoses, drill bits, mounting plates, and clear instructions to make installation as straightforward as possible. Most riders with basic tools can complete the job in an afternoon, and our Virtual Mechanic service is available if you want real‑time help.

What’s the advantage of a SuperATV heater compared to other UTV heaters?

Our heater integrates seamlessly with the Defender’s coolant system for maximum heat output and fast warm‑up. Machine‑specific brackets and hardware ensure a clean fit, and optional upgrades—like a grille cover, flow valve, and idle pump—boost performance in extreme cold.

Will this heater warm both the driver and passenger area?

Yes. The heater is positioned to push warm air throughout the cab, keeping both sides comfortable. Optional vent configurations let you direct airflow exactly where you want it for balanced heat coverage.

What comes in the box with the SuperATV Defender cab heater?

The kit includes the heater unit, hoses, drill bits, mounting plates, wiring components, and all machine‑specific hardware needed for a clean, complete installation.

Does the SuperATV heater use the Defender’s key‑on power?

Yes. The heater ties into the Defender’s key‑on and power terminals, ensuring it only runs when the machine is on. This keeps wiring clean and prevents accidental battery drain.

How fast does the heater warm up the cab?

With the optional quick‑start flow valve and idle flow pump, you get heated air faster—even before the engine reaches full operating temperature. That means less waiting and more riding in comfort.

Is drilling required to install the heater?

Yes. You’ll need to drill through plastic in a few spots, but we include the correct drill bits and Defender‑specific templates to ensure everything lines up cleanly.
